Restricting Access to the Service

As an added security measure, you can restrict access to the service based on IP address. Only IPs that you specify will be allowed to connect to the service. Note that if your client is assigned an IP address dynamically, such as through DHCP, enter the entire possible IP range in the Allowed IPs list. If your IP address changes and the new IP is not listed, then you will not be able to log back in to the service.

The Restricted Access feature is disabled in these cases: 1) when users have VeriSign Identity Protection (VIP) enabled in their accounts, and 2) when a single sign-on solution has been implemented for the subscription (by a partner).

To restrict access to the service:

1.    Go to Setup > Security.

2.    Under Restricted Access, enter an IP address or range in the field provided, and click Add.

The IP address/range is added to the Allowed IPs list.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to add your own IP address or you will not be able to log back in to the service. For your convenience, your IP address is displayed on screen.

3.    Select the Allow connections from the following IPs only check box.

4.    Click Save.

Note: Users will only be allowed to connect to the service from one of the allowed IPs.
