Running Policy Compliance Reports

The service provides 4 policy compliance reports for reporting on compliance scan data, including template based reports and interactive reports. These reports are available only if the compliance module is enabled in your subscription and you have compliance management privileges. See Policy Compliance Reports for a complete description of report types.

To run a template based report:

The service provides two template based compliance reports (based on compliance data rather than vulnerability data): Authentication Report and Policy Report.

Select nav_report.jpg Report from the left menu. Then go to New > Compliance Report > Template Based to display the New Compliance Report form. Select Authentication Report or Policy Report from the Report Type menu. Then provide report details like report title, report format and report source options.

When running a Policy Report, you must also specify a policy report template in the Report Template field. Click Select to choose from a list of policy report templates. If no report templates are available, you must first create a policy report template before you can generate the policy report. See Creating Policy Report Templates for more information.

Your completed report appears online and is saved to Report Share, making it easy to share with other users in the subscription. To learn more, see About Report Share.

To run an interactive report:

Select Report on the left menu. Then go to New > Compliance Report > Interactive.

Select the interactive report you want to run: Control Pass/Fail Report or Individual Host Compliance Report. Report previews and descriptions are provided on the screen to assist you in making a selection.

In the Report Setup pane, select report source options. This is where you specify the report target like the policy, control or host you want to report on, and report layout options. The report setup pane is hidden and the report results appear.

Interactive reports are unique in that you can keep changing the report settings to get different views of your compliance data. To show the report setup pane in order to make changes to your report source options, go to the View menu and select the Setup Pane check box. Modify your report settings and click Run again to update the results based on your new settings. You can change the settings as often as you like. Note that interactive reports are not saved to Report Share. You can download and print interactive reports from the File menu in the report.
