Setting Global User Permissions

Each user's role determines a basic set of privileges.

User Permissions: Managers can set global user permissions to restrict some privileges. Managers can restrict users from viewing information about users in other business units and scheduled tasks on unassigned assets.

To set global user permissions:

1.    Go to Setup > User Permissions.

2.    Select the permissions you'd like to set for the subscription. Your options are:

Restrict view of user information for users outside of business unit. (Only applicable if business units have been established.) Select to restrict Unit Managers, Scanners and Readers from viewing details about users in other business units. For example, users in Business Unit A would not be able to view asset group assignments for users in Business Unit B and vice versa.

Restrict view of scheduled tasks on unassigned assets. Select to restrict all users from viewing scheduled tasks on assets that they do not have privileges to. Note that Managers have privileges to all assets in the subscription.

3.    Click Save.

Additional permissions may be granted to individual users in order to extend their privileges. See Setting Extended User Permissions to learn more.

There are also some global remediation privileges that may be granted to all Readers and Scanners, including the ability to mark tickets as Closed/Ignored and the ability to delete tickets. See Setting Remediation Options to learn more.
