Each time you run a scan on your network, detailed scan results are saved on the scan history list (select Scan on the left menu). Run scan reports to analyze scan results and report on scan data. You can run template based scan reports and scorecard reports.
Using report templates you can generate scan reports based on saved scan data. Template settings determine how much technical detail to include in your reports and how that information is displayed. The reporting service allows you to analyze trends in vulnerabilities detected, sort and filter scan data, generate graphical reports, and create executive reports that provide a high-level view of your overall network security without technical details.
Service-Provided Templates. Several scan report templates are provided by the service for your convenience. See Templates Provided by the Service. The Library provides a variety of scan report templates that you can import to your account. The report templates in the Library are designed to address many of your vulnerability reporting requirements. See About the Library.
Custom Templates. By creating your own scan report templates, you can specify exactly what type of information you want to view in the generated report. Sort and filter vulnerability data to exclude different vulnerability categories, status levels, severity levels, or vulnerability types from your report. For example, you may want to generate a report that only focuses on new vulnerabilities, or a report that focuses on critical vulnerabilities. Your templates are saved on the report templates list, allowing you to re-run a template to generate a report at any time.
Scorecard reports provide vulnerability data and statistics appropriate for different business groups and functions. The service provides 5 different scorecard reports which may be run on asset groups in your account, asset groups in a particular business unit or asset groups that have been tagged with business information.
Scorecard Reports List. Scorecard reports are similar to template based reports but they are not saved on your report templates list. View and manage scorecard reports from the New Scorecard Report page. For subscriptions with Report Share enabled, select Report on the left menu, and then go to New > Scan Report > Scorecard. For subscriptions without Report Share enabled, select Report on the left menu, and then go to New > Scan > Scorecard Report.
Service-Provided Scorecards. There are 5 scorecard reports provided by the service: Asset Group Vulnerability Report, Ignored Vulnerabilities Report, Most Prevalent Vulnerabilities Report, Most Vulnerable Hosts Report and Patch Scorecard Report. When you run a scorecard report, you're prompted to provide report details like title and format, and report source options which define the report target.
Custom Scorecards. Save a customized version of any scorecard report. Select one of the 5 scorecard reports provided by the service, and then customize report source settings, add report filters and provide a report description. Then save your version of the scorecard with a unique name. Your scorecard report will appear in the list of scorecards on the New Scorecard Report page.
