The Report Summary section of the policy report includes information known at the time the report is generated.
Policy. The title of the policy included in the report.
Policy Locking. The locking status for the policy included in the report: Locked or Unlocked. A policy that is locked can be used for certification purposes, for example to certify that you are meeting all requirements outlined for a particular CIS benchmark.
Template. The policy report template used to generate this report.
Asset Groups. The asset groups assigned to the policy.
Active Hosts. The number of active hosts on the report generation date for the policy. A host is considered "active" when at least one control in the policy was evaluated on the host, resulting in a passed or failed status.
If a host assigned to the policy is not counted, then none of the controls in the policy were evaluated on that host. Possible reasons for this include: the host has never been scanned for compliance or the compliance scan data was purged, authentication to the host failed, or the host is not relevant to the policy (e.g. a Windows host assigned to a Linux policy).
Controls. The number of controls in the policy.
Technologies. The technologies set in the policy.
Total Control Instances. The total number of control instances in this poliy report (sum of passed and failed instances). If the same control is evaluated on multiple hosts, then it is counted for each host.
Total Passed. The number of control instances with a passed status in this policy report. This includes hosts that passed because of an approved exception. If the same control passed on multiple hosts, then it is counted for each host.
Total Failed. The number of control instances with a failed status in this policy report. This includes hosts in the report with a pending exception. If the same control failed on multiple hosts, then it is counted for each host.
Approved Exceptions. The number of approved exceptions in the policy report.
Pending Exceptions. The number of pending exceptions in the policy report.
The Report Summary is followed by two pie charts showing the total number of passed and failed control instances on the report generation date. See Charts and Graphs for more information.
