Granting WAS User Permissions

User account permissions that allow the user access to web application management features may be granted to sub-accounts (Readers, Scanners, and Unit Managers), when the web application scanning (WAS) module is enabled for the subscription. These user permissions are Manage web applications (required to access web application management features) and Create web applications (optional).

User Permissions: Managers can grant extended permissions for web application management to any user in the subscription. Unit Managers can grant these permissions to any user in their business unit as long as the Unit Manager performing the edit also has the permissions. For example, if the Unit Manager performing the edit has permissions to manage web applications and to create web applications, then the Unit Manager has the ability to grant these permissions to another user.

To grant WAS user permissions:

1.    Select User Accounts from the left menu, under Tools.

2.    Identify the user account you want to grant extended permissions to, and click ico_edit.jpg.

3.    Click the Advanced button.

4.    Select the Permissions tab.

5.    Select the extended permissions you'd like to grant to this user. There are several extended permissions listed. These WAS user permissions are available:

Manage web applications. (Applicable to Reader, Scanner and Unit Manager accounts.) This option is only available when the WAS module is enabled for the subscription. Select this permission to allow the user access to web application management features based on user access rights. User access rights are granted per web application. See Granting User Access to Web Applications.

Create web applications. (Applicable to Reader, Scanner and Unit Manager accounts.) Select to allow the user to create web applications for this subscription. This option is only available when the Manage web applications permission is selected.

6.    Click Save.
