Note: This information applies when WAS 1.0 is enabled for your subscription.
A web application profile with scan settings is applied to a web application scan. The service provides a web application profile "Initial WAS Options" to help you get started.
A globally available profile may be created by Managers and Unit Managers to make profiles available to multiple users. Managers have privileges to make profiles globally available to all users in the subscription. Unit Managers can make profiles globally available to users in their business unit.
User Permissions: The web application scanning (WAS) module must be enabled for the subscription. Users other than Managers must be granted permissions in order to create and edit web application profiles. See Users and WAS Features.
1. Select Option Profiles from the left menu, under Tools.
2. Go to New > Web Application Profile.
3. Enter a title for the web application profile. Initially, the user who creates the profile is the owner by default. You can edit the profile owner after the profile is saved.
4. (optional) Specify Web Application Profile Settings to configure web crawling, vulnerability detection, password brute forcing, and sensitive content detection.
5. Click Save.
1. Select Option Profiles from the left menu, under Tools.
2. Identify
the web application profile you want to edit, and click .
3. (optional) Make changes to the profile title, if desired.
4. (optional, Manager and Unit Manager only) Specify whether the profile should be globally available. To enable this setting, select the check box Make this a globally available web application profile. When set by a Manager, the profile will be available to all subscription users. When set by a Unit Manager, the profile will be available to users in the Unit Manager's same business unit.
5. (optional) Make changes to the Web Application Profile Settings.
6. Click Save. Optionally, click Save As to save a copy of the profile with a new name. In this case, the original profile is not changed.
